Club Motorcycle (SIVCS) Registration

As a HMCCQ member you are entitled to have your motorcycle registered under the Queensland Transport’s Special Interest Vehicles Concession Scheme (SIVCS). This scheme has reduced registration costs but requires eligible motorcycles to be manufactured thirty years or more prior to registration date.

Motorcycles registered under this scheme allows members to ride their bikes to and from, and in any event sanctioned by our Club or other appropriate club.

The motorcycle registration issued under this scheme is conditional on you retaining membership of the Club.

Guidance on the SIVCS Application Process

The Special Interest Vehicle Concession Scheme mandates that the owner of the vehicle is responsible for ensuring that all information provided about the vehicle and submitted as part of the registration process, is true and correct.

In the event of an accident, a false declaration may result in the vehicle being declared unregistered and/or uninsured.

Preparing the Paperwork

  1. To be eligible for SIVCS registration, you need to prove to Transport and Main Roads (TMR) that you are a member of an appropriate incorporated club, and that your machine is at least 30 years old.

  2. HMCCQ has a  form that you must complete and have certified by the club which substantiates that you and your machine meet these conditions.

  3. The form can either be completed Online and emailed to our Dating and Technical Officer for certification, and returned to you by email;

  4. or completed manually by visiting a local Area Inspection Officer, who will provide you with a paper copy of the form to complete.

  5. When you submit the form (either online or locally) your currency of HMCCQ membership will be checked, and if current, Certification 1 will be signed. Please assist by providing your membership card and/or membership number.

  6. If your vehicle has previously been registered, has an Australian compliance plate or an import plate that you can verify with TMR, you do not require Certification 2 (age of machine) to be completed.

  7. If you have no proof of previous registration, no compliance or import plate on your machine, you will need to provide proof of the age of your vehicle to our Dating and Technical Officer (online) or local Area Inspection Officer (in person) in order for Certification 2 to be completed. As an example, this may include a photo of your machine, its frame number and a manufacturer's list of frame numbers showing the year of manufacture.

  8. The completed SIVCS Form with appropriate certification(s) must be provided to TMR when applying for SIVCS registration for your machine.
